Obituary Order Form

The following newspapers are available for research at the Historical Society library and the local public library.

Historical Society Library - Various newspaper for Luzerne County from 1853-1949 (dates before 1853 are sporadic);

Public Library - only newspaper and dates listed:
The Citizens' Voice - October 9, 1978- present
The Times Leader - January 1950- October 2004
The Wilkes-Barre Record - January 1950- June 1972
The Sunday Independent - November 4, 1906 - December 13, 1992

WHILE OUR SOCIETY'S NEWSPAPER HOLDINGS HAVE RECENTLY BEEN DIGITIZED AND CAN BE SEARCHED WITHOUT KNOWING AN EXACT DATE OF DEATH, NEWSPAPER HOLDINGS AT THE PUBLIC LIBRARY ARE ON MICROFILM ONLY- A DATE OF DEATH MUST BE PROVIDED TO SEARCH THEIR HOLDINGS (ALL DATES AFTER 1949).

Requests are answered in the order they are received.
Please allow 4-6 weeks.
