Tea Party Like It’s 1825 – A Regency Era Tea
April 27 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
$40
Due to popular demand, the LCHS will again host a Sunday afternoon tea at the Kirby Episcopal House, 381 Sunset Road in Mountain Top!
Join us on Sunday, April 27th at 2pm as we travel back in time to 1825 and enjoy a traditional Regency Era high tea including cookies, scones and sandwiches. After lunch, guests will then be introduced to “Mrs. John Conyngham” and “Miss Ellen Bowman,” who will then perform an original two-person play set in Wilkes-Barre in 1825. The two ladies will give you a window into life 200 years ago as they discuss people, events, merchants, locations, and even prices, all of which come directly from stories in 1825 city newspapers.
Tickets are $40 per person and include lunch, the tea, and the play. Period dress is welcomed, but not required. Reservations are required for this event, limited tickets are available, and like last year, it will no doubt sell out. To make reservations, call 570-823-6244 x3 or email reservations@luzernehistory.org.
